Handy was taken down by a mini-gun but he afforded me precious seconds to keep on running for my life.Īnd those damn slave traders at the Lincoln Memorial!! Man did they piss me off. Handy" and sick him on one of the Super Mutants outside (flamethrower action!). At one point running into an abandoned house in Georgetown only to activate a "Mr. It all seemed so free-form, especially the beginning of my journey, exploring random subways and malls, not knowing where the hell I was heading, being completely terrified of the Super Mutants, hell, of everything really. Azrakahl hands me the contract for Charon, Charon then thanks his former owner in very definitive terms.Īmazing, amazing stuff. I casually blew her head off with the sniper rifle I was given by that bigoted Ghoul Crowley, who wants me to off some humans he considers bigots himself. Eventually I found Lincoln Memorial, which led me to the Museum aka "Ghoul City" and after tracking down some Abe Lincoln artifacts for the slave traders back at the Memorial (this was a creepy quest-I do not appreciate the stronger Feral Ghouls at all), and then killing every single last one of them only after collecting my cash for said artifacts (who can let an entire clan of slave traders live?), I headed back to Ghoul City, completely encumbered so it was a verrrry slow trek back, to sell all my new loot and lo and behold, there's Greta smoking a cig outside the front entrance. It all happened because I decided to get the hell out of Megaton without bothering with the nuke, either way, and simply stumbled onto Georgetown/DC and pretty much ran for my life the whole way through though the Feral Ghouls weren't so bad the packs of Super Mutants and Centaurs freaked me out though. It's become my go-to weapon though the stats don't explain why. And yet the Railway Rifle brings down almost everything I see in two shots, with one of the two usually being a critical. The oh so lovely Railway Rifle, for example, lists damage in the high twenties, a good ten points lower than the Combat Shotgun.

I also seem to get criticals more often with certain weapons. There seems to be more going on than just the DMG number. I've been pondering the weapons and how they work, systems-wise.
